Our Witches of Scotland Arisaid is a stunning tartan wrap of grand proportions. Designed to be versatile, it can be worn in the traditional Highland style, as a shawl, or used as a striking throw for your home. Like all our tartan, this heritage piece honours the people persecuted as witches in Scotland between 1563 and 1736.
The Arisaid is woven in the same substantial wool as our Witches of Scotland scarf, giving it a rich weight. Whether draped around your shoulders or across a chair or bed, it brings comfort while standing as a visible act of remembrance in everyday life.
The Arisaid measures 2m x 1.4m and comes with an engraved wooden authenticity tag featuring both the Witches of Scotland logo and the mark of Prickly Thistle — two symbols of creative rebellion. Designed to be removed before wearing, it can be kept as a keepsake or repurposed as a keyring.
Woven in the Scottish Highlands by Prickly Thistle, a woman-led artisan mill, this scarf is crafted with care, purpose, and heritage at its core. It is made using 100% responsibly sourced merino wool, spun and dyed in Kinross, then woven using traditional methods at our Highland mill. The wool carries RSW (Responsible Wool Standard) certification, ensuring high standards of animal welfare and environmental care.
The Arisaid is a living memorial, a rallying banner, and a call to arms for all quarrelsome dames.
Please note: We’re keen to get your arisaid to you as soon as possible. As you’ll appreciate, producing tartan on traditional looms using ethical methods is a time-consuming process. We estimate orders placed now will be shipped in November / December of 2026. In future, we hope to hold stock so orders can be fulfilled more quickly.
Please note: For orders outside the UK, you may be required to pay local import duties or taxes upon delivery. These charges are set by your country’s customs authority and are not included in our prices. You can find more details about shipping, customs, duties and taxes in our shipping guide.
